Light bulb in Maury Lecture Hall

submitted 5 months ago by in Buildings & Grounds

Some of the lights in the front of the Maury 2nd floor lecture hall, closest to the speakers and chalkboard in the front of the room, flicker on and off and it’s distracting during lecture.

“Presidential senate”

Curious as to who selected the group of “100 student leaders” for the presidential senate. Very worried about the lack of representation from a certain very large group of students

Renaming Jordan Hall?

submitted 11 months ago by in Buildings & Grounds

One of the biggest buildings in the medical school is Jordan Hall, which is named after a doctor most well known for his eugenics research. His eugenics work was used in the Buck v. Bell case (three generations of imbeciles is enough) and was also used by the Nazis to form their own eugenics program. […]

Something to do with extra swipes

submitted 11 months ago by in Community Service

We should somehow be able to use our extra meal swipes to feed hungry people in Charlottesville. Buses and Safety on Wertland

submitted 12 months ago by in Safety & Wellness

There are no buses that go down Wertland despite it being a very popular area for students to live. Additionally, Safe Ride always leaves from libraries to go by dorms first and it is a long time before upperclassmen can get back to their apartments over by the Corner. This makes it very unsafe for […]

Professor Shortage

submitted 12 months ago by in Academics

Students in several departments, especially Media Studies and Computer Science, have a really difficult time getting into classes they require for graduation. There are not enough professors in these departments, and there are several professors who will be on sabbatical for the upcoming school year, meaning there will be even fewer professors available for teaching.

Lack of Knowledge about Dining Options

submitted 12 months ago by in General

Although dining does try and support student’s needs with themed nights and events for vegans, vegetarians and other food groups, there’s a major lack of knowledge about these initiatives and widespread dissatisfaction about our food

CIO Funding

submitted 12 months ago by in General

There is $750,000 to distribute to CIOs, but in the first of the 10 rounds this year over 1million was requested. There isn’t enough money to go around.
